Narrowing my focus in 2009
Over the years, I've experimented with a number of blogs, websites, forums, communities, and other online presences.
Much of what I did was to learn how things work and to try them for myself. Others were to test the effectiveness of different techniques and venues.
Now, after lots of experimenting, I'm narrowing my focus to just two major topics: affiliate marketing and promoting the businesses, organizations, and people in Murphy, NC.
While CafePress continues to play an important part of my marketing mix and I'm happy to cash the commission checks I receive, I will be limiting my blogging about them mostly to my two main blogs at JohnDilbeckAndFriends.com and 21stCenturyAffiliateMarketing.com.
One major lesson I learned is not to spread yourself too thin. Focus is one of the keys to success.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased this year
Now that we're nearing the end of 2008, I want to take a moment and thank everyone who has purchased products from my CafePress store.
Thank you!
This has been a difficult year and most of my time was devoted to caring for my Mom, who got sicker as the year passed and died in November. As you can probably understand, caring for her was more important than adding new designs to my shop or posting to this blog.
In 2009, I'll be turning my attention back full time to my marketing business, and that includes adding new designs to my Cafepress shop and possibly opening one or more new shops, as well.
I look forward to creating new designs and hope at least some of them will appeal to you.
